FIVE-TIME GRAMMY-NOMINATED COMPOSER AND ELECTRONIC MUSIC PIONEER COMES TO LONDON.

THE FIVE-TIME GRAMMY-NOMINATED COMPOSER AND ELECTRONIC MUSIC PIONEER SUZANNE CIANI WILL APPEAR AT BOTH THE BARBICAN CENTRE AND A LIVE PERFORMANCE AT THE EARTH THEATRE AS PART OF THE FUTURE IS SOUND 2026.

For more than five decades, Suzanne Ciani has continually redefined what electronic music can be. From her groundbreaking work with the Buchla synthesizer to her influential film scores, performances and recordings, her career has helped shape generations of artists and expand the possibilities of electronic composition.

We're honoured to welcome Suzanne to London for THE FUTURE IS SOUND 2026, where she will appear as both a featured speaker at our flagship Barbican Centre summit and as a live performer during THE FUTURE IS SOUND: LIVE at the iconic EartH Theatre.

THE BARBICAN CENTRE

ON SATURDAY 10th OCTOBER, SUZANNE CIANI WILL JOIN US AT THE BARBICAN CENTRE FOR A SPECIAL CONVERSATION EXPLORING A LIFETIME OF MUSICAL INNOVATION, CREATIVITY AND CURIOSITY, AND HOW THESE CONTINUE TO INFLUENCE THE FUTURE OF MUSIC AND HUMAN EXPERIENCE.

Rather than simply reflecting on an extraordinary career, the conversation will look forward - exploring the enduring role of experimentation, listening and artistic courage in shaping what's next.

THE FUTURE IS SOUND: LIVE

ON MONDAY 12 OCTOBER, SUZANNE CIANI RETURNS FOR A RARE LONDON LIVE PERFORMANCE AS PART OF THE FUTURE IS SOUND: LIVE AT EARTH THEATRE.

Following a series of unforgettable gatherings we've hosted at EartH over the years, this year's edition becomes the immersive live finale to our London programme -bringing together pioneering artists and emerging voices exploring new possibilities for live immersive performance.

Joining Suzanne live at EartH will be a roster of exciting artists to be announced soon - including RUTHLSS - one of London's most exciting emerging live artists. Following her recent opening performance for Daniel Avery's sold-out Barbican show, she has quickly established herself as one of the city's most promising new talents.

BRINGING TOGETHER ARTISTS WHO HELPED DEFINE GENRES AND THOSE HELPING SHAPE ITS FUTURE REFLECTS WHAT THE FUTURE IS SOUND HAS ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT: CREATING MEANINGFUL DIALOGUE BETWEEN GENERATIONS, IDEAS AND ARTISTIC PRACTICE.

Suzanne's appearance marks the first featured contributor to be announced for THE FUTURE IS SOUND 2026.

Over the coming weeks we'll continue unveiling the programme, including more artists, featured conversations, immersive experiences and partners.

SUPER EARLY BIRD FULL DAY PASSES ARE NOW AVAILABLE IN LIMITED NUMBERS AHEAD OF OUR WIDER PUBLIC TICKET RELEASE.
