KATE FLEUR YOUNG
London-based vocalist and electronic artist crafts ritualistic, cinematic soundworlds that fuse ancient traditions with futuristic production
‘Her music moves between the spectral and the visceral: ethereal vocals and crystalline tones woven through dark synths, piano, beats, and immersive field recordings.’
Drawing from the wild mythologies and landscapes of the British Isles, Kate’s voice carries the resonance of forgotten folklore into a bold, contemporary electronic realm — music that feels simultaneously ancient and utterly new. Her debut album TOR, produced by visionary artist Robot Koch, mixed and mastered by Aneek Thapar (Rival Consoles, Max Cooper), and featuring Anna Phoebe (violin) and Katt Newlon (cello), is a work shaped directly by place. Built from field recordings captured across sacred sites in Cornwall and Dartmoor, each piece acts as a sonic imprint — a dialogue between voice, land, and frequency. The album also includes songs written in the ancient Cornish language, reanimating an almost-lost oral tradition through contemporary electronic composition.
